Update: Rockstar has now confirmed that the trailer was leaked and has released the trailer itself. Check out our rundown here. Original story follows.
Over ten years since the release of the last Grand Theft Auto game, we’re finally on the eve of a trailer for the series’ next entry. The game most people have been calling Grand Theft Auto 6 will at last be unveiled to the public tomorrow, December 5, at 9 a.m. EST. Among other things, we’ll find out if that is indeed its title.
While most previous Grand Theft Auto reveals were shedding light on games that had been well-kept secrets until that point, the world happens to know a fair amount about this GTA entry thanks to some pretty substantial leaks. We’ll talk a bit about what we’ve learned from those further down. For those wanting to avoid any and all spoilers until the big reveal tomorrow, let’s cut straight to when and where you can watch the new trailer tomorrow.
Once live, you can watch the new Grand Theft Auto trailer on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel here:
The trailer is expected to go live at the following times:
- West Coast of North America: 6 a.m. (PST)
- East Coast of North America: 9 a.m. (EST)
- U.K.: 2 p.m. (GMT)
- West Mainland Europe: 3 p.m. (CEST)
- Japan: 11 p.m. (JST)
After the trailer (or should there be any traffic-related issues with the YouTube page, given the likely astronomical amount of folks tuning in), we also recommend checking out Rockstar Games’ news page. It also can’t hurt to keep an eye on the developer’s Twitch and Instagram accounts while you’re in the mood to soak up all things GTA.
What you can expect from the trailer (no spoilers from leaks)
The trailer is expected to be a brisk 90 seconds long. For context, Grand Theft Auto V’s first trailer was a minute and 25 seconds, while Grand Theft Auto IV’s reveal was just over a minute.
Tomorrow’s trailer is more than likely to announce the official name of the game. We also expect to get a look at some new characters and the setting of the game, which, going by the post announcing the trailer, has some nice palm trees, lovely sunsets, and birds. For fans of the series, this screams Vice City, the GTA stand-in for Miami. But we’ll have to wait for tomorrow to know for certain.
Having said that, due to leaks from last year, we do happen to know a bit more than we should. If you’re interested in catching up on everything we know about Grand Theft Auto 6, please check out a spoiler-rich rundown of everything here.
