Have you finished Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth’s 50-hour story? What about its 100 hours of side content? Every Remnawave tower, combat assignment, and summon shrine? Even the Odin one? Well, you’re in luck! It sounds like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is coming to PS Plus this month so you can dive into the original soldier love triangle that set all this in motion.

According to reliable French leaker billbil_kun, the remake of the 2008 PlayStation Portable prequel is one of the games coming to PS Plus’ Netflix-like library for subscribers to the Extra tier and above. Update: the PlayStation Blog has confirmed the full list. The 2022 HD version has plenty of flaws and will definitely feel rough if you’re coming to it from Rebirth, but it’s a decent enough vehicle for the original FFVII backstory every fan needs to know to be a completionist.

Here are some of the other games billbil_kun says are coming to PS Plus Extra beginning July 17:

  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion
  • Remnant II
  • Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Enhanced Edition
  • Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
  • No More Heroes 3
  • Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition

Remnant II is last year’s hit loot shooter with soulsborne influences and some excellent level and boss designs. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is a medieval strategy sim where you lead armies, battle rival kingdoms, and raise your successors, with sprawling battlefields that combine high-level tactics with first-person action. The enhanced edition of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is also worth a look. Its a meaty isometric RPG based on the tabletop game where you get to engage in deep combat and rewarding role-playing.

The rest of the PS Plus updates for July will be revealed by Sony tomorrow, according to billbil_kun. That’s when we’ll also find out what games are leaving the service at the end of this month and whether the company is finally upping its game when it comes to the library’s selection of classic games. Crossing my fingers for more PS2 games starting with Suikoden III.

Update 7/10/2024 2:37 p.m. ET: The PlayStation Blog’s official list of July PS Plus games also includes:

Extra

  • The Jackbox Party Pack 9 | PS4, PS5
  • Deadcraft| PS4
  • Steep| PS4

Premier

  • Job Simulator | PS VR2
  • Summoner | PS4, PS5
  • Ratchet and Clank Size Matters | PS4, PS5
  • Jeanne d’Arc | PS4, PS5

The classics this month are especially good. Summoner is a rough but memorable PS2 RPG and Ratchet and Clank Size Matters was a great PSP version of the Sony action platformer. Jeanne d’Arc is the one I’m most excited for, however. The Level-5 strategy RPG was a solid historical fantasy piece for the PSP. Think Final Fantasy Tactics for The Hundred Years War. An instant download in my book.
